UDINE
The city of Udine is the provincial capital of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located right in the center of the Friuli region. It is considered the capital of Friuli, with its hospitable squares and the prestigious eighteenth-century works of Giambattista Tiepolo, which can be admired in the Tiepolo Galleries, in the Cathedral and in the church of Purità.
The ancient Udine Castle stands on top of a high hill, in the historic center of the city, and allows the visitor to admire the breathtaking landscape that extends up to the surrounding hills and mountains. The Castle is one of the most important monuments of Udine, and houses several Civic Museums, including the Archaeological Museum and the Friulian Museum of Photography.
Udine can be easily reached by car thanks to the A23 Palmanova-Udine-Tarvisio motorway, exit at the Udine Sud and Udine Nord toll booths.
